Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T

02. 09. 2022

Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T is an upgrade from the Snapmaker original, and the Snapmaker original is one of the few 3D printers to make waves in the printing industry. In Kickstarter history, it was the third-most funded tech project. And it did not disappoint as it delivered a tool that became multifunctional for its makers. The original Snapmaker had a lot of expectations attached to it because of the vision the makers sold. And though the original Snapmaker might not have lived up to the vision shown, Snapmaker 2.0 made up for it. Snapmaker 2.0 is the upgraded model of the original that brought all the features, designs, and improvements to A350.  We need to mention what Snapmaker is capable of-from 3d printing, and laser engraving to CNC cutting.; it truly presents the Snapmaker 3v1. Here is the Snapmaker 2 review.

Improvements In Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T

Since Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T is an upgrade to the original Snapmaker, here are some of the added features in the new upgrade.

Newly designed Linear Modules and 3D Printing Module

Newly designed Power Module with fan speed adapter.

  • 1.6W Laser Module with a built-in camera (*possible to buy a 10 W laser)
  • MDF Board & Clamp Sets for CNC Carving
  • CNC Carving Module with ER11 Collet
  • Cortex-M4 Processor powered controller
  • 5" Smart Touchscreen
  • Magnetic Heated Bed with removable Print Sheet for 3D Printing
  • Aluminum Grid Table for Laser Engraving and Cutting
  • Free 3-in-1 Software: Snapmaker Luban
  • Extra items including 2 pcs of the laser material,1kg spool of PLA filament, and a piece of CNC material

These added features brought about these improvements in the upgraded version.

1. It uses less power consumption

3D printers are known to consume a lot of power, but Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T was built to consume less power than other brands using the same scale.

One of the primary causes of its high power consumption in the original Snapmaker or other 3D printer models is the non-stop running of the fan. No matter how much or less work the 3D printer does, the fan is always running at full speed. This causes loud noise throughout the time the 3D  printer is on.

But the new model features an adaptive fan speed. This causes the fan to consume less power even when it is running at its full speed. And when the fan machine is not in use, the fan runs at a lower speed, making it consume less power still. Then when there is a need to cool the machine down, the fan speeds up again.

2. Compatible with Previous Edition’s Accessories

If you buy all of the accessories to a device after buying it, you do not have to worry about discarding them when you want to buy the upgraded version; Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T.

All the software, add-ons, and accessories for Snapmaker A350 can be added to Snapmaker  2.0. So, you can use the same enclosure, form factor, emergency stop button, air filter, rotary module, and any other upgrade you have gotten.

3. Makes less noise

So many things were modified in the Snapmaker 2.0 bundle A350T to ensure it does not make as much noise. The newly designed linear module system was made with different lead sizes on the screws and new stepper drivers to keep the stepper motors quiet on the axis X, Y, and Z. So, considering the more quiet linear module, more quiet power module, and fan adapter, you can use it without having to deal with noise.

4. Improved Functioning

Some parts have been added to improve the printing quality and features the printer can carry out. For example, the newly designed 3D module has better ventilation that, when added with firmware, makes print corners easier and adhesion laying better. So, it is just like improvising an already good feature.

5. Improved Software

The integrated Snapmaker software, Snapmaker Luban, has also been improved to provide all the functions you need for 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, and engraving. And if there are any other functions on third-party software, you can export them to Snapmaker. Also, while carving, there are additional tool pads that have just been added, making it easier to add finer details.

And one of the best features is that as good as the software is and despite the effort, they are putting into making it better; it still allows you to use third-party software.

6. Faster

The faster does not mean you are getting less quality due to the speed; it just points at the opposite. In between the newly designed linear modules and the extruder, the coordination algorithm has been improved such that you can print high-quality items at high speed. So, while printing at high speed, you do not have to worry about overflows, gaps, and cracks.

And even with larger projects, you can print at high speed and still get accurate results.

7. Variety

With the new upgrade, you can print almost anything. There are lots of materials available to print with and properties you can print. Be it PETG, PLA, TPU, or wood PLA, you can do all these on the Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T.

You can do the Snapmaker 2.0 laser engraving and cut using your everyday life materials, including plywood, acrylic, leather, paper, fabric, and coconut shells. And to function as a CNC laser cutter 3D printer, it can carve using a sheet, hardwood, carbon filler, acrylic, and POM.

8. Durable and high-quality

The original Snapmaker was built to last, but the makers still outdid themselves with the new version. All the primary components and modules are made of high-strength metals, and the aluminum alloys are integrated into some parts of the module to give the machine a premium look and increase its performance.

9. Project Recovery

In case of a power outage, you do not have to worry about starting again. Snapmaker 2.0 Bundle A350T can detect when there is a power loss and immediately save your progress so that it will resume exactly where it stopped.

This also applies to when you run out of filament. Instead of cases of ‘air printing,’ it notifies you that you have run out of filament. And as soon as you load a new filament, the printing resumes from where it stopped.

10. Well-built

The newer Snapmaker printer version was built to accommodate the heavy weight and, at the same time, ensure a hard grip. With the filament’s tight grip, you can be sure that objects will not slip off it, and you will get more precise lines and edges on your prints.

And despite being well built, no complex designs can hang up the filament nor cause clogging.

What Needs Improvement in Snapmaker 3D Printing Service

1. Inability to Change Programming

Despite the many tools available for carving and adding finer details to work, you can not change tools in the middle of it. So, if you want to do a bit of broad carving and add details to the edges, you will have to stop and start all over again.

This also extends to when you use a tool for detail work; it will use the same tool till the very end, meaning if you choose to carve, it will carve everything. The only alternative is using a third-party app to do one function rather than the other.

2. Bugs Fixing

Many people have complained about the software's bugs. Many users advise an upgrade to help get rid of the bugs and ensure the smooth running of the Snapmaker printer.

3. Limited Smart-touchscreen Functions

Snapmaker 3D printer milling machine comes with an intelligent touchscreen function which is an addition to the benefits of the machine. However, there are limitations to the functions you can perform with the touchscreen.

The touchscreen has features that can help your daily life and workplace. But apart from these features, you might not have all the functions you need on the touchscreen, meaning you have to control it via the device’s button.

4. Out of reach Filament

For people who change the filament regularly, it is pretty uncomfortable that the filament holder is at the far back, making it hard to change the filament from time to time. It would be better if the filament holder is located at arm’s reach in future upgrades.
