THE NEW ENDER-3 S1 PRO - All you need to know

07. 04. 2022

Ender 3 series has done great in the market since it’s the most popular customer choice when it comes to Creality printers. Creality launched Ender 3 S1 last year which was a game-changer. Whatever improvement people wanted, it was given in Creality Ender 3 S1. Now, guess what, Creality is coming up with yet another better version of Ender-3 S1. Yes, you heard it right, Ender-3 S1 Pro release date has been announced-it's Thursday, February 24, 2022. The newer, better, smoother, and more convenient Ender 3 S1 Pro is everything you wanted in your printer.

So, What’s the Buzz Around Ender S1 Pro?

Ender 3 S1 Pro is better than the previous versions such as Ender 3 V2, Ender 3, or Ender 3 Pro. It upgraded all the previous features and got rid of the issues of the older versions. It is equipped with amazing new features like a 4.3" color touch screen, PEI spring steel, LED strip, and a titanium nozzle. In this Ender 3 S1 Pro review, we would explain everything you need to know about this slick and smart 3D printer.

Past year Creality stunned us with their Ender 3 S1. We had created a detailed Ender 3 S1 review to explain the product features. We are going to do the same for the PRO version. We are going to start with some of the crucial features of the latest version of the Ender 3 series; Sprite direct drive with double metal gears comes first in the list continuing with two vital sensors. The first one is the automatic leveling sensor and the second one is the sensor for detecting filament.  Another great feature of Ender 3 S1 Pro is that the printer comes 96% pre-installed. Creality claims with just 6-step you can assemble the whole printer within minutes. Gone are the days when you had to struggle to assemble your 3D printer. The 32-bit silent mainboard has ultra-quiet drivers so you can print without being annoyed by its noise. Not to forget the Double-Z axis and two Z-axis motors that ensure smooth and stable printing.

The most notorious feature is the nozzle that can take up to 300℃  temperature. This opens up a wide range of printing possibilities for you to explore because of the high filament compatibility.

The Features of Ender 3 S1 Pro

  • Up to 300℃ nozzle temperatures
  • ‘’Sprite’’ full-metal direct drive extruder with dual gear
  • 96% pre-installed printer
  • Two Z-axis motors
  • Takes 6-step to assemble
  • Removable PEI spring steel sheet
  • Toolbox
  • Filament holder
  • LED light
  • CR-touch automatic leveling
  • 4.3” touch screen with friendly UI
  • Filament sensor
  • Platform with a handle for safe pulling out the bed in high-temp condition

What are the Benefits of Using Ender S1 Pro?

1. "Sprite" Full-metal Direct drive Extruder Dual-gear

We all know that the Extruder is the crucial component in terms of 3D printers. It’s because without it you cannot feed the filament to the already heated nozzle. It has three basic parts which are the same in any extruder. These parts are driver gear, stepper motor, and idler. Even though extruder’s components are similar but they can be of two types. One type is called Direct drive and the other is Bowden. If you have to compare, the former is the best and used by Ender 3 S1 Pro.

Ender 3 s1 and Ender 3 S1 Pro use direct-drive extruders. The distance is shorter in a direct drive and the retraction too. Not just that, the commands you give to the printer works faster with it. Thus, you get better printing resolution.

2. Spring Steel PEI Magnetic Build Plate

The spring steel used here is due to its durability. They have high yield strength and you can shape them however you like. It’s even better than the one used in the previous version. It can handle high temperatures a lot better than the one used in Ender 3 S1. You can easly remove it if you want since it gets attached to magnetics well. It is compatible with ASA, TPU, PLA, Wood, PETG, PAHT, SILK as well as other types of filaments. It removes all the small issues you have while printing. It trully takes no effort to take out the print -when printing is over, you simply bend the base and the model detaches itself from it.

3. 4.3” Touch Screen

Another remarkable upgrade of the Ender 3 S1 Pro is the 4.3” touch screen. The revolutionary UI interface ensures that you feel more interactive while using the printer. The purpose of the tilted screen is to expand your visual field making it more convenient for use. The 4.3” touch screen turns off after 3 minutes of inactivity. Now, you don’t have to put up with the inconvenience of Ender 3 S1’s knob screen.

The surprise does not end here. The upgraded version supports 9 languages: Chinese, Spanish, French, Turkish, German. English, Italian and Portuguese.

4. Up to 300℃ Nozzle Temperature

In addition to a direct-drive metal extruder, this printer also offers a nozzle that can print sensitive filaments such as Nylon and abrasive ones such as Carbon fiber. This titanium nozzle, which is resistant to high temperatures up to 300 ℃, allows us high compatibility of filaments and more printing options. The Ender 3 series did everything we were looking for; with this move, we can't demand anything else.

5. Easy-to-Assemble

Ender 3 S1 Pro comes 96% pre-installed. Thus, you don’t have to waste time trying to figure out what goes where. If you are a beginner in the 3D world, you will be very happy with this novelty, as your predecessors needed hours to assemble their printer and print the first product :) With just 6 steps you can now assemble the whole thing and start printing. If you follow the instructions in the manual, you will see that the work will be completed in 10 minutes.

6. Two Z-Axis Motors

This feature is the same in both Ender 3 S1 and S1 Pro. With the two motors, you don’t face any wobbling or similar problems. It promotes better stability of the X-axis when the printing process is taking place. It also makes sure that the machine doesn’t wear down because of constant printing. The pully and the timing belt in the motors allow the printer to be more detailed, so the printing process becomes even faster and better.

7. 32-Bit Silent Motherboard

The 32-bit motherboard is a feature that both Ender-3 S1 and Ender-3 S1 Pro share. The motherboard creates a link between the electrical components and the mechanical components. By doing so it controls everything starting from the stepper motors to fans. Its CPU speed is up to 72 MHz. Silent drivers are also a great thing, as there is hardly anything to hear, so you can have this printer in your living room or bedroom as well.

8. Filament Sensor

What’s can be more saddening than when you make all the preparation for getting a new 3D print model and let the printer work while you having a good night's sleep. But all your hopes go down the drain when you see that your printer doesn’t have that sensor because you don't know what you will wake up to.

The filament sensor in the Ender 3 S1 Pro notifies you when you run out of filament. Also, when the printing work is still ongoing but there is no filament left the sensor quickly stops the process. This way it saves the print model from ruining. The sensor sends a command to stop the work and wait for the new filament to resume the work.

9. LED Strip

Many of us want to check out our prints in the middle of the night. But it seems impossible since it's dark. To get a clear picture of what is happening during the printing many of us install LED strips. With Ender 3 S1 Pro, you don’t have to spend extra on LED strips as the new version comes packed with it. Cool right? Imagine how would your printer look when it is donned with LED strips. It lights up your workstation too. It helps with 3D printing accuracy too if you are using a camera and need a clear shot image.

10. CR-touch

The printer is equipped with CR-touch, which offers us the 16-points automatic leveling that can complete the leveling quickly with compensation for points’ printing height on the heat bed. This way saves us a lot of time.

Ender 3 S1 VS Ender 3 S1 Pro: What is the Difference Between them?

No matter what your choice, you will not be disappointed with either of them. Both are great 3D printers with reasonable prices; both have amazing features that will simplify and enhance your printing experience.
Most 3D printing beginners have problems right from the start, as it is very important to assemble the printer correctly. If we immediately make a mistake in the assembly, there is a high probability that 3D prints will be bad. The Ender 3 S1 Pro is 96% already assembled which helps you avoid unnecessary errors and waste time. With the predecessor, we also have an easier start, as the Ender 3 S1 is also partially assembled. Both printers also have a filament sensor that helps control the amount of filament.

Both printers have a direct drive extruder with dual gear. The Ender 3 S1 is the first in the Ender 3 series to also have 2 motors on the Z-axis as they provide high-quality printing. In the Pro version, of course, they retained this feature.  An important difference to consider when deciding between the Ender S1 and the Ender S1 Pro is the nozzle. If your intention is to print products for home use, various figurines, vases, simple objects, Ender 3 S1 will meet your needs. However, if you are inclined to more demanding materials and you would also like to make prototypes that must be extremely strong and exposed to higher temperatures, we advise you to buy Ender 3 S1 Pro, as its nozzle allows you to print up to 300 degrees. Both printers can work with almost all types of filaments, but the Pro version has a maximum nozzle temperature of 300 ℃, which ensures successful printing of Nylon and Carbon fiber.

The other important difference is found on the bed; Ender 3 S1 Pro has a magnetic sheet made of PEI material, which can't deform due to bending and takes on its original shape. You do not need glue, shovel, or tape with this base. If you are a beginner, such a plate is necessary, as it will not damage the 3D model during removal. With the predecessor-Ender 3 S1, we have a PC removable magnetic bed, which is also better than the basic magnetic plate. The difference between PC and PEI is the finish. Both sheets work on the same principle - they can be easily bent and the product will peel off. PEI lining has a particularly rough coating structure, which contributes to an even faster and more elegant way of removing the product, because of which you will no longer need Dimafix spray or 3dLac, as removing models has never been so easy.

A new feature that has been added to the Ender 3 S1 Pro is also liquid cooling. It works better than conventional fans commonly used in previous models. Certain parts of the printer can cool faster than a regular fan. Traditional cooling fans take up a lot of space, and the new liquid cooling concept takes up a barely noticeable corner in a 3D printer.

To make a quick recap- with the new Ender 3 S1 Pro you will get a LED light, 4,3 touch screen, a nozzle that handles up to 300℃, and the revolutionary PEI sheet.

With the table below where we can make a comparison between the two printers.

Ender 3 S1 Pro Price: How Much Does It Cost?

This amazing printer has a sprite full-metal dual-gear direct extruder, CR-touch automatic leveling, 4.3” touch screen with friendly UI. It supports 9 languages. It also has a removable PEI spring steel sheet and a handle for the platform. Ender 3 S1 Pro has a nozzle temperature of  300℃. It can melt filaments that need high temperatures such as ABS and Nylon. The high filament compatibility enables you to explore all the printing possibilities.

Now you might be wondering about the price of this amazing printer that comes with all these features. Well, Creality maintains a reasonable price for all their products and Ender 3 S1 Pro is nothing different. The new Pro version’s price is just around  50 euro more than Ender 3 S1. This means you can get Ender 3 S1 Pro at around 489 euros.

Ender 3 S1 Pro will be on the market soon. It has remarkable new features with open up new possibilities for you. The new version supports filaments such as PLA, Nylon, Wood, TPU, PETG, PAHT, and more. There is not much of a difference between Ender 3 S1 and Ender 3 S1 Pro as the core features are the same. But it is equipped with cool features like LED strips, PEI magnetic plate, a big touch screen, and more. The Ender 3 S1 Pro offers all the advantages of the Ender-3 S1, but we must not forget the small but very important novelty - a nozzle that can withstand up to 300 degrees Celsius.
