Support Filament
Supporting filaments or soluble filaments are used in various industries and for different projects, where we can chemically remove 3D printed supports. PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is used in the 3D world as a support material. PVA is a water-soluble material, which means that when we immerse the printed product in water, the supports made of PVA filament melt and we are left with only the main part of the product. It goes great with PLA filaments, PETG or ABS. The second best-known support filament is HIPS, which is only compatible with ABS filament, as it needs similar conditions for a successful printing as ABS filament. It is soluble in Limonene solution.
